Development of an adaptive fine machining process for the resource-efficient production of functionally optimized inner tube surfaces in precision steel tubes (HeR0 2)
Project duration: June 2022 to February 2025
As a developer of modern tools for the finishing of metallic surfaces, we see our responsibility in constantly developing our tools further and exploiting optimization potential. Our research work, which involves the Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and Forming Technology IWU in Chemnitz and seven companies as well as a research institution, began at the end of 2020. The aim of this project is to increase energy efficiency in production.

Receptive roller burnishing tools with Integrated SENsorik and 5G communication (RISEN_5G)
Project duration: January 2021 to December 2022
At the beginning of 2021, our research work involving the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT in Aachen and R&D Steuerungstechnik GmbH & Co. KG are involved, began. RISEN_5G combines new and existing technologies in order to provide relevant sensor technology close to the point of action and to link the sub-process steps of smooth rolling and measurement technology. The aim is to increase both product quality and process transparency.
As part of the project, the following article was published in MDPI (Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute):
„Investigations on the Potential of 5G for the Detection of Wear in Industrial Roller-Burnishing Processes“ (https://www.mdpi.com/2079-9292/11/11/1678)
Development of a new type of ine machining system for the inner machining of long workpieces (HeRo)
As developers of modern tools for the finishing of metallic surfaces, we see our responsibility in continuously developing out tools and exploiting potential for optimization. We are currently researching with the Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and Forming Technology IWU in Chemnitz on a new development of a precision machining system for the internal machining of long workpieces. Out intention is to provide our customers with the innovations for tomorrow’s production.
